Mother Helped Son “Clean Up” after Christmas Eve Murder

Timothy Dakota McCary, 23, has been charged with the murder of 20-year-old Gavin Hargrove on Christmas Eve in Lawrence County.

McCary’s mother, Maranda Harville, has also been arrested and charged with hindering prosecution and corpse abuse. Court documents reveal that Harville poured bleach on Hargrove’s body and attempted to clean the crime scene.

Elden Cordera Shelton, another individual connected to the murder, has been charged with hindering prosecution.

McCary was eventually apprehended by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a brief foot chase.

The arraignment for McCary’s case is scheduled for August 3.
