Lacedrick Davis, 18, remains in Mobile Metro Jail and prosecutors hope he will stay there until his trial under Aniah’s Law, a measure aimed at keeping violent repeat offenders behind bars. Davis is accused of fatally shooting Cedric Lynch, Jr., 27, while he was sitting in his car on Northwest Drive.
Prosecutors are pushing for Davis to remain in jail without bond due to the nature of the threats he made towards certain individuals involved in the case.
Lynch’s mother, Ella, expressed relief at the denial of bond, stating that Davis needs to be locked up as he is dangerous and poses a threat to society. Davis’ hearing for Aniah’s Law is scheduled for Friday, June 30.
