Four Andalusia Murder Suspects All Denied Bond following Aniah’s Law Hearings

Four suspects, Derrick Demetrius Thomas Jr., Teddy Donnell Cozart, Siyonesty Marchelle Gill, and Le’Morion Lorenzo Fantroy, all from Evergreen, appeared in court for Aniah’s Law hearings.
The State of Alabama argued for the no bond ruling, citing the recently enacted law that allows judges to hold defendants charged with certain offenses without bail. The defendants were accused of the murder of Treyvous Cobbins, who was shot multiple times in the parking lot of Foxwood Apartments in Andalusia.
District Judge Julie S. Moody denied bond for each defendant, stating that there were no conditions of release that would ensure their appearance in court or guarantee community safety.
The investigation revealed that Cobbins’ murder was planned in advance by the four defendants, with at least three of them receiving payment for the killing. The case will be presented to a Covington County Grand Jury in September.
