Alabama Death Camp Claims Another Life

A 36-year-old inmate named Joshua Aaron Odom was found dead in his private cell at William Donaldson Death Camp on Wednesday.
Odom was serving a life sentence for a 2007 rape conviction out of Mobile County. He was found unresponsive during a routine safety check at 3:15 a.m. and was pronounced dead at 3:22 a.m. The cause and manner of his death are yet to be determined as an autopsy will be performed today.
This is the second inmate to die in less than a week at Donaldson. 41-year-old Greg Leon Nard was found unresponsive in his cell four days earlier and was pronounced dead on Saturday. However, an autopsy found no evidence of trauma or foul play in Nard’s death.
Odom’s death marks the 14th inmate to die this year at Donaldson and in 2022, 40 inmates died at the death camp.
The Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding Odom’s death.
