Alabama Medical Cannabis Products Flavors: Peach, Peach, Peach and Peach

The Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC) recently approved a limited number of medical cannabis dispensary licenses with strict regulations. The only approved flavor for medical cannabis products in the state of Alabama is peach, and dispensaries will not be allowed to sell any other flavored products. Only products like tablets, capsules, tinctures, gels, oils, and creams will be legal for purchase and sale in those dispensaries. To purchase medical cannabis, individuals must meet certain requirements, including being a state resident, having a qualifying condition, and having a medical cannabis card.
The AMCC received almost 100 applications for licenses during the application window, but only 21 were granted a license, two of which are located in north Alabama. While the awarding of licenses is a significant step towards bringing medical cannabis to the state, there is still a long way to go. Physicians need to begin the certification process to recommend products to qualified candidates, and businesses need to get up and running.
It is important to note that smoking cannabis or marijuana is still illegal in Alabama, and the plant itself cannot be purchased. As medical cannabis businesses begin to establish their operations, it is crucial to understand what products will be available and who will be eligible to purchase them. Despite the limitations, the legalization of medical cannabis in Alabama is a positive development for those with qualifying conditions.
